About
Professor Allison Noyes received her B.A. in politics from Mount Holyoke College and her M.A. and Ph.D. in communication from the University of Southern California. She specializes in organizational and group communication, health care organizations, and strategic communication. Her current research focuses on interprofessional collaboration, organizational culture and power dynamics, care disparities, and palliative care. She is currently building on her dissertation research, which examined the role of communication in enabling successful interprofessional team care in a hospital, to look at specific care team roles and communication around end-of-life care. Before joining the Communication Studies department at LMU, Dr. Noyes worked as a researcher for the palliative care team at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles while also teaching in the graduate communication management program at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
