    Dr. Abe joined the LMU Psychology Department in 1994. She served in the Dean’s Office as an associate dean from 2005-2010 and returned to the Department in fall 2010. In 2013, she will be moving to Córdoba, Argentina for three years, as a faculty co-director for LMU’s Casa Argentina study abroad program. Dr. Abe conducts research related to help-seeking and cultural competence in mental health service delivery, as well as related to culture, spirituality, place, and mental health issues.
    Dr. Abe received her B.A. from Wheaton College in 1985, her M.A. from University of California, Los Angeles in 1987, and her Ph.D. from University of California, Los Angeles in 1992 (Psychology).
