Kathleen Norris is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Loyola Marymount University. In the past, she has been a summer orientation advisor for incoming first-year and transfer students and taught the First Year Experience courses and labs. Since joining the faculty in 1989 she has taught the following courses: Introduction to Public Speaking, Argumentation and Debate, Critical Thinking, Interpersonal Communication, Business and Professional Communication, Leadership and Interpersonal Communication, Communication Practicum, and Interpersonal and Small Group Communication. She is one of the two primary academic advisors in the Communication Studies department.
She is currently researching student engagement, peer advising, student development and career development theories as they relate to academic advising. She serves as a mentor in the Cooke Undergraduate Research Scholars Academy at LMU and co-coordinated a four-year plan in conjunction with the Career Development Services Office to engage students more fully in their career planning.
She enjoys vegetarian cooking, yoga, and traveling.
