    About

I have been Dean of the Library since 2006. Prior to coming to LMU I worked at Indiana University Bloomington, where I held several positions, including Head of Media and Reserve Services/Film Studies Librarian and Director of the Digital Library Program. My research at Indiana University spanned media librarianship and digital library development. My current research focuses on librarians as researchers. I am especially interested in the role of research self-efficacy in research productivity and administrative/institutional support for librarian-researchers. In 2013, Marie Kennedy and I developed a research-based, grant-funded continuing education program for academic and research librarians, the Institute for Research Design in Librarianship (http://irdlonline.org). We continue to study research success factors in order to improve IRDL, now in its second iteration IRDL-2, for participants, as well as contribute to the body of knowledge regarding these factors.
