Dr. Nora A. Murphy is a Professor of Psychological Science at LMU. Her research focuses on nonverbal communication in social interactions and behavioral measurement. Her work appears in numerous psychology journals including the Annual Review of Psychology, Personality and Individual Differences, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, and Cognition and Emotion. Dr. Murphy serves on the editorial boards for the Journal of Nonverbal Behavior and Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. She holds fellowship status in the Association for Psychological Science; Society for Experimental Social Psychology; Society for Personality and Social Psychology; and the Western Psychological Association. Dr. Murphy received her doctoral degree in Experimental Social/Personality Psychology at Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Psychology and Aging at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. She completed a graduate certificate in Data Science at UCLA Extension in 2019.
