Adāb

Abstract

Adāb (pl. ādāb) is the Arabic term for “customary practice” or “habit.” In this respect, it is synonymous with sunnah in its basic sense of a tradition derived from earlier examples or exemplars (such as the Prophet Muḥammad or his companions).
