title = "An Intelligent Wireless Mesh Network Backbone",
abstract = "In this paper, we report on a work-in-progress of an intelligent wireless mesh network backbone. We give a list of guidelines that should be considered for the design of such a network, and analyze them in the context of different application scenarios. We propose a backbone for these networks with the following characteristics: self-formation and maintenance, adaptability, and resiliency. A model for the backbone and a topology control scheme are proposed based on an analysis of the traffic flows generated by final users.",
