Abstract
This new translation and interpretation begins with promise and good intentions. The author states that he will investigate the influence of Buddhism on the Yoga Sütras, and in fact makes an important observation that the term parisuddha (1:43) corresponds to the fourth state of meditation listed in the Digha Nilcäya, an important Buddhist text.
