Becoming a Productive Librarian-Researcher

Research output: Contribution to conferencePresentation

Abstract

Brancolini and Kennedy have been studying research productivity among academic and research librarians since 2010. Their early research led to the creation of the Institute for Research Design in Librarianship (IRDL), a grant-funded continuing education program designed to help novice researchers improve their research skills and increase their research output. This presentation discusses the theoretical foundation of the research that informed the development of IRDL and describes three important research success factors: research self-efficacy, institutional support, and research networks.
