Abstract
The article presents non-traditional funding strategies for undergraduate research in mechanical engineering at Loyola Marymount University during the academic year 2012-2013. Topics discussed include partnerships of engineering students with industry for laboratory testing of prototype sensors under varying hydraulic conditions, sponsorships of events conduct such as conduct of outlook surveys, and contracts for research and service-learning projects.
