Abstract
Diversity Residency Programs provide professional opportunities to recent MLS graduates from an underrepresented community in librarianship. Residents have been leaders in spearheading innovative approaches to support the diversity mission of the institution and library through a variety of both internal and external initiatives. Hear from current and previous residents who have developed outreach initiatives and diversity programming related to ethnicity and multiculturalism at four distinct academic libraries as they share recommendations for developing, implementing, and sustaining similar projects at other institutions. Outreach and programs include developing relationships with diversity departments and the local community, holding events to celebrate diverse cultures and ethnicities, and looking internally at our own collections and resources to support diversity.
