Editor's note

With this issue editorial responsibility for the Journal of the American Academy of Religion passes from the hands of Charles Mathewes and his colleagues at the University of Virginia to me and my colleagues at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. My first task as editor is a happy one, to thank Chuck, Kurtis Schaeffer, and their colleagues for the fine work that they have accomplished. I cut my teeth on the JAAR during the editorial run of Glenn Yocum, so thanks also to Glenn for all that he has done.
