Abstract
The chapter first reviews central theories of creativity and resilience as building blocks of the current understanding of art therapy and the healing properties of art. Second, the lens of cultural humility is used to contextualize the design of an international art therapy summer program that was created to offer an educational exchange for art therapy students in Mexico, the United States, and Israel, and which included a virtual community service component. Third, the chapter will explore the experiences of art therapy students and community participants in the virtual workshop offered to participants throughout Latin America, illustrating learnings related to art therapy practice and creative interventions during a global adversity.
